Gooding
"Winter's Return"
GOODING's first solo record recorded in 92, and though nothing like the live band and current sound, this is "over 60 mins of breathtaking soundscapes that will shatter new age stereotypes and cliches. Progressive, gorgeous and needs to be heard." Jersey
GOODING may downplay mentions of this first solo record since the live band is much heavier and more raw, but the studio work here is brilliant, the production immaculate, and any fans of movie soundtrack artists such as Hans Zimmer and Craig Armstrong will adore this disc. At times reminiscent of Clapton's RUSH sondtk, Gooding commands the guitar work, ranging from neo-classical to latin and minor blues- making stops everywhere along the way. "Alive with texture, melody and sub melody, it would take me all day to list the points of this extraordinary work, most importantly the use of dynamics: gracefully sparse into full scale attacks. The classical guitar work is pristine..grab your headphones, kick back and turn it up"
