"Clap if You Love Vampires"
Haunting and at times uplifting movie-score inspired instrumental album.
"TK 2 "Bloodsucker" was used in Nip/Tuck's season 4 dvd.
This is GOODING's halloween record- reminiscent of Daniel Lanois, Ry Cooder and Renihold Heil/ Johnny Klimek's score for the HBO series DEADWOOD. Haunting and Beautiful, acoustic/classical guitars with electronic backdrops ranging from Ethereal to Acid Jazz, yet communicating a very spiritual and cohesive center.
Here are some liner notes from VAMPIRES....
This LP was written and recorded on a six week break from the road in July/August '06. Many things inspired the creation of this record - none the least, Kinky Friedman's killer line, "Clap if you love vampires." My neighbor Mike goes nuts for Halloween - starts planning his haunted yard in the summer. It looks like Disneyland over there. Animatronic pirates steering his deck made up like a ship, trash cans chasing you around the driveway and I figured he needed an original soundtrack. I had a collection of stranded acoustic ideas from the road that I felt good about, but they had no glue and the ambient sounds and the fact that my basement is haunted got my mind spinning. These little strays finally found a home in a one-month 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' coffee and Maker's fueled marathon.
Like all of them, the album is haunted by my psychosis, but in the end the message is one of hope. I dedicate this to my bassist Billy Driver-who likes bad zombie movies and fake blood as much as anyone out there.
Turn your lights low and put your headphones on. Thank you for listening.
