Soul-stirring, foot-stomping Rock ‘n’ Roll from the plains. With 750 shows in 157 cities, this LA-based/Kansas bred power trio is by far one of the hardest working bands in America.
Guitarist/Singer and namesake “Gooding” and his band of brothers, Jesse Rich and Billy Driver, have been touring non-stop for 8 yrs. Their live shows are infused with the confident energy and heart-on-your-sleeve emotion that only comes from 3 childhood friends living out their dream on the road. Through relentless touring and honest interaction with their fans, music on the DVDs of Iron Man 2, Walk the Line, Ice Age 2, as well as commercials for Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler, the band is building the kind of brick by brick long-standing career that major label artists aim for, yet they have done it without major label funding or corporate sponsors (the band’s 2012 eco-tour bus and tour will be completely fan-funded). Audiences witness what is almost a secular church revival, with sticks and strings left all over the stage, and a final act of Gooding playing two guitars at once.
“Billy, Jesse and I have paid our dues with stolen gear, vans breaking down and catching fire, cooking ramen in the coffee pot at motel 6, all night drives through black ice and tornados, shows with broken bones, no sleep, no clean clothes… each and every setback only made us more of a family. A real band was made to play live on the road and this extended family was made to have their metal tested to get through anything together. We never got the “one big break”, but that allowed us to slowly and naturally become who we are and amass a catalog of music and dedicated fans that are the core of everything we do”
Besides being a ferocious live performer and a relentlessly prolific songwriter, Gooding feels that making music and being in the public eye serves no purpose if it’s not serving the greater good.
2010 saw the boys from Wichita hitting every state in the lower 48. Their 7 months of non-stop travel included shows donated to 16 Military Bases and Walter Reed Hospital, and the band was honored with a private tour of the White House.
Gooding’s support for the PCRM (Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine) has afforded him the opportunity to be an honorary committee member on a short list that includes talents such as Woody Harrelson, Alec Baldwin and Tobey Macguire.
Gooding was also chosen to speak at the 2011 AND 2012 Conference on World Affairs in Boulder, CO. The Conference, originally founded in 1948 as a forum on international affairs, choses only 100 panelists from around the globe per year. Previous panelists have included Eleanor Roosevelt, Patch Adams, and Ted Turner.
GOODING is currently writing and recording their upcoming LP "Buffalo", booking a national tour in their "green powered-fan powered" eco-bus, and teaming up with the Credit Union of America to perform and talk to high school students about financial literacy. If history is any guide, nothing will stop these 3 Kansans from bringing their music to a town near you soon….
